CCF Tea (Cumin-Coriander-Fennel)
CCF tea — cumin, coriander, fennel — is the gentle, everyday Ayurvedic digestive. Equal parts of the three seeds simmered in water make a mild, pleasant tea you can drink daily to support digestion, ease mild bloating, and settle the stomach after meals. It's deliberately milder than the four-seed Bloating Tea (which adds potent ajwain for acute gas): CCF is the one you sip routinely, not just when something's wrong. The three seeds balance each other — cumin is warming and settling, coriander is cooling, and fennel is sweet and anti-spasmodic.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
- 1 teaspoon coriander seeds (dhania)
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds (saunf)
- 4 cups water
Method
Brew
- Add all three seeds to the water in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 to 7 minutes until the water is golden and fragrant.
- Strain into a cup or carafe. Sip warm through the day.
Notes
- Make a batch — CCF is mild enough to drink as your daily water. Simmer a larger pot in the morning, strain into a flask, and sip warm over the day.
- Whole seeds, not ground — whole seeds give a cleaner tea and don't turn it cloudy or gritty. A light crush helps release flavor.
- No sweetener needed — it's naturally mild and faintly sweet from the fennel; keep it plain for the digestive benefit.
- CCF vs. the others — this is the gentle daily option. For acute gas and bloating use the stronger Bloating Tea or Jeera & Ajwain Water; for acidity/heartburn use the cooling Acidity Cooler (Saunf-Dhania Water).
